How God healed her...

"A recovered Bulimic since 1995..."

I have received the supernatural intervention of God upon my life. After struggling with this ferrous illness from the age of 16-27, as a pre-Christian, the power of God's spirit fall upon me one day in my bedroom.

A wife and a mother of two, I was so blinded to the deception wrapped around this disease. I simple thought that Bulimia was my diet. Until the sweet voice of God touched my spirit, sending it into a talespin. Whispering softly to me He said "Karen He said "Karen doing what you are doing you wont see your daughter become 10." (at the time she was about 7)

When I heard these words my inner vessel simply broke. Dropping to my knees, I cried for the next three hours, I choose Life, not death, I choose Life!

The next morning I awoke to discover that the will of wanting to self-induce vomit, was no where to be found with in me.

It was a miracle. Within the next few weeks I was a born-again, spirit-filled, on fire for God, Christian.

The habits vanished instantly, but it has been a journey to this day to discover the true me, that was hidden under that eating disorder.

But what an incredible journey. God's word declares to us that what the devil has meant for harm God will use for GOOD!!!!! Amen

For many woman world wide, (and now an even increasing number of men) the pressures of an image-obsessed world become so great that they seek answers in dangerous, secret ways. As a former victim between the ages of 16-27, to bulimia, I have I been through the valley of the shadow of death. Battling with extreme feelings of guilt, isolation, depression, shame, attempted suicide and mental anguish.

I am totally bless to be able to say that God has allowed my autobiography to be put to print titled "The Monster In The Mirror - How I Overcame Bulimia" is the first hand account of my incredible journey from the clutches of this horrific eating disorder into a life of total freedom since 1995, not through psychiatric therapy or hospital admission, or drugs, but by the miraculous power of God and was published and released by Castle Publishers, New Zealand, in March of 2003.

I now reside with my husband and 2 children, in Nelson, New Zealand and believe with all of my heart that it is my obligation to make something better out of my life. To use what I have been through to bring a living hope, while helping others who are trapped like I was. To encourage and inspire them to go after a life of freedom from their own prison of an eating disorder. U.S.A statistics 2002, say 8-10 million woman and 1 million men in the U.S.A will be victim to bulimia or anorexia, and of these 9-11 million 10-15% will die from this illness.

Scanning the horizon behind me and writing on the deep inner pains and the trumamatic struggle with bulimia in my past, I felt I was writing some one else's journey. Jehovah Rapha, the 'Lord My Healer' has totally transformed me back to the person God created me to be over 37 years ago in my mother's womb. As I wrote there was no more pain, and no more tears. Jesus came to set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1) and I am simple one captive that is now totally set free. What Jesus has done for me He will do for you!
